Anybody that has had fleas before knows they can be an itchy nuisance. Fleas can be a problem to either a cat or dog and will feed on human blood if necessary. They can also go for long periods of time without feeding. Treatments consist of spraying baseboards, carpets and areas close to where the infested pet may rest. If they rest on a bed or mat it is recommended this be washed and dried at high temperatures. Having the pet treated for fleas by a vet is also recommended.
